Can be treated using eye drops but in case they are not effective surgery can be performed. Treatment for children with glaucoma should be taken with caution as if not done properly will result to visual problems in future.

Conjunctivitis

This is inflammation of the conjunctiva. It is also known as pinkeye. Causes include bacterial and viral infections to allergies of such things as pollen or dust. It is characterized by itchiness, pain, discomfort and redness of the eyes. For some the eye disease clears off by itself within a few weeks while others result to cleaning the eyes. Eye drops are used to reduce inflammation. When it is caused by irritants such as household bleach, washing the eyes with a lot of cool boiled water is important.
