I spent quite some time in the Mission district this weekend. It was a pleasure to speak at the Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs with my Workshop cohorts, Blakely from RAG and the awesome Marlo Miyashiro, but also to just talk to attendees and see so many people serious about improving their small business. I hope that recordings of the sessions will surface. Meanwhile, you can check out the comments from Twitter at #ccewest.
For the product development talk I did with Marlo, I created a new product worksheet that is useful for recording many details about a new product, deciding on pricing, your target market and more. You can download this worksheet here. If it is helpful for you, please share, blog or tweet about it!
If you missed this conference, there are more popping up all over the place. BlogHer Handmade is Sept 15-17 in St. Paul,?School House Craft is Sept 23-25 in Seattle, the Summit of Awesome is Oct 20-22 in Baltimore, and more to come, I?m sure.

I am now in the process of eating my own dog food, so to speak ? I am trying to live what I preach. This means putting productivity programs into place, scheduling my time, making goals and long-range plans, and narrowing my focus so I can be more effective at what I do. It?s difficult! When I started consulting, I was going to allow myself about half a year to make myself available and see what people wanted. It?s a lot different than what I had envisioned, of course, but I?m going to go with it. You will see some tweaks to this site, some subtractions and some additions too. Make sure you are getting the newsletter or the RSS feed and stay tuned.
